About Us:
Here at Santa Rosa Treatment Program, our highly trained and certified professional staff takes the time that is needed to help opiate dependent individuals achieve sobriety and regain stability in their day to day life. SRTP is are an outpatient program providing Medication assisted treatment and comprehensive counseling support. Our program is an excellent choice for individuals who have found abstinence based treatment to be ineffective or for those who are unable to take time away from home and work for inpatient treatment.
Our Philosophy:
Drug addiction is a complicated and chronic disease which impacts the afflicted individual in every domain of his or her life. Opiate addiction is highly destructive due to it being a chronic brain disorder and especially resistant to abstinence based treatment. Research has demonstrated the most effective treatment for opiate addiction is a combination of opiate replacement therapy, one-on-one counseling and social support. Through medication assisted treatment we aim to reduce the negative consequences of opiate addiction.
Medication-Assisted Treatment:
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is the use of medications along with counseling and therapy to treat substance abuse. MAT is mainly used to treat opioid addictions (i.e. heroin and/or prescription drugs like OxyContin or Vicodin). Medications like buprenorphine are used in MAT to help normalize brain chemistry, block the effects of alcohol and/or opioids, relieve cravings, and stabilize body functions, making sobriety easier to maintain. All medications used are approved by the FDA, and every MAT program is tailored to the patient’s specific needs.
Methadone Maintenance Treatment (MMT):
Methadone maintenance or ORT (Opiate Replacement Therapy) is the use of methadone as a substitute for someone who is addicted to opioids (heroin, OxyContin, codeine, Dilaudid, Percocet and others), helping with the recovery process reducing the cravings for the opioids or used as part of the admittance process to a substance abuse treatment facility that requires complete abstinence.
