About this Facility

Centerstone Blair House is a drug and alcohol addiction rehab in Bloomington, IN. Through its comprehensive care services, the facility provides addiction treatment to teens and adults that is individualized for each patient's needs.

Centerstone Blair House provides treatment for various substance use disorders through a wide variety of services. Treatment for addiction is not one size fits all, which is why we work alongside our patients to understand their situation and identify a treatment plan that fits their unique needs. Addiction services can take place in a variety of settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and residential.

Outpatient services are available to adults and can include regular substance use counseling sessions, meeting with peer support specialists, or meetings with a specialist who provides case management or wrap around services.

IOP services are for adults who may not need residential treatment or hospitalization. IOP is an option for patients with alcohol or drug addiction and typically includes intense individual and group work (generally 10-15 hours of treatment per week) while still allowing time for personal life responsibilities.

Medication assisted treatment is a combination of medication and behavioral health services used to treat addiction to drugs or alcohol. At Centerstone Blair House, FDA approved medications are provided in conjunction with therapy to help manage withdrawal symptoms, calm overactive areas of the brain, and increase the chances of long term recovery.

Detox services are available for teens and adults that are struggling with addiction. With inpatient detox, clients receive medical supervision to safely detoxify. While participating in services, patients will receive a medical exam and lab work, as well as the ability to participate in leisure activities and any other needed treatments for recovery.

Centerstone Blair House offers a variety of room and board options, as well as the ability to serve pregnant women and individuals with co-occurring disorders. With residential treatment, patients receive time for meals, socialization, education, and leisure, in addition to therapy and other treatments.

Treatment

Mental Health

Addiction treatment includes a wide range of mental health services. Professional mental health clinicians provide 24-hour care, and treatments often involve individual and group counseling sessions, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), experiential therapies (equine and animal therapy, outdoor therapy groups, and individual / group counseling sessions designed to simultaneously address both mental health and substance abuse.

Level of Care

Inpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Clinical Services

Experiential Therapy

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.
