Located in San Mateo, California, Women’s Recovery Association - The Elms is an alcohol and drug rehab center that provides outpatient services. They also support individuals living with co-occurring disorders.
The outpatient program is for those who need support but who do not need 24-hour care. Individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, couples counseling, interventions, and holistic wellness services are provided. Clients will have access to a nurturing environment where educational counseling services are provided. They will focus on setting goals for their treatment and for their personal lives.
If it is determined that a higher level of care is needed, clients may be referred to a facility that has inpatient or residential services. When treatment ends, aftercare support may include helping clients work with 12-step or other recovery programs, referring clients to social services, and more.
The Women’s Recovery Association may accept multiple insurance plans, such as Cigna, Humana, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Beacon, United Healthcare, and more. Be sure to check with the insurer to verify out of network benefits and other coverage information.

Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.
