Medically monitored detox at Valley of Hope gives clients a safe, secure, and monitored environment to undergo the detoxification process. Clients reside on campus so they can be assessed, monitored, and cared for by staff during this time. Clients also receive education and counseling to prepare them for the next step of their recovery plan.

Clients live on campus in a closely monitored environment during the inpatient program. During treatment, they do not leave the facility and are under certain restrictions designed to remove distractions and reduce the risk of relapse. Staff are also present 24 hours a day to help clients as needed.

Treatment at Valley of Hope follows the 12 step model of support groups used by AA and NA groups. In addition to this, they participate in individual and group therapy, education groups, and relapse prevention planning with their personal care team. Valley of Hope relies on several evidence backed treatments to give clients highly individualized care.

IOP treatment is a day program where clients live at home and visit the facility three hours a day, three days a week, to meet with their care providers and participate in their recovery plan. The outpatient program is used as a transitional step following the completion of the residential program. Still, it’s also an ideal starting point for clients with mild symptoms from stable backgrounds.

MAT is the combination of therapies and psychiatric services with medication administration. MAT is most commonly used when treating opioid addiction to help reduce or eliminate physical cravings so clients can better focus on recovery with a reduced risk of relapse. MAT is closely monitored, and clients receiving MAT undergo regular assessments to ensure they remain healthy during the process.

A co-occurring disorder is any mental illness, such as bipolar disorder or anxiety, that exists alongside addiction. If a client comes to Valley of Hope with a dual diagnosis or receives one during the assessment, they will receive treatment for the symptoms of both issues as part of their care plan. Co-occurring disorder treatment can significantly reduce the risk of relapse of clients in recovery.

Treatment

Alcoholism

Alcoholism is typically characterized by an inability to control alcohol consumption, withdrawal symptoms when drinking stops, and impairment in the ability to socialize and work. Recovering from alcohol addiction is a long process that begins with alcohol rehab in Nebraska. It requires applying techniques that are learned through evidence-based counseling, mutual-support groups, and other related therapies.

Drug Addiction

During drug rehab in Nebraska, you’ll participate in therapies that address the many issues that contribute to addiction. Treatment includes physical, mental, emotional, and relational aspects. These methods provide the tools you need to achieve long-term recovery.

Dual Diagnosis

Dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs in Nebraska offer specialized care for individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders and mental health conditions. Outpatient, inpatient, and partial hospitalization levels of care are available. Clinicians offer a robust treatment plan encompassing evidence-based therapies, like cognitive behavioral therapy, or dialectical behavioral therapy, or motivational interviewing, together with family counseling, educational groups, and recovery meetings, to address both disorders and enhance mental health and well-being.

Opioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance Abuse

In Nebraska, substance abuse treatment programs are available to individuals struggling with addiction, and those with co-occurring mental health disorders. These programs utilize evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based interventions. With various treatment options, including outpatient, inpatient, and residential programs, you’ll receive expert and personalized care that can help you overcome addiction and meet your unique needs.

Level of Care

Medically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one’s body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. For patients dependent on alcohol or other drugs, medically monitored detoxification eases withdrawal in a safe, supportive environment. Detoxification usually lasts just a few days and is done under the supervision of doctors and nurses at Valley Hope residential treatment center. Each patient is given a complete physical including a lab profile and monitored 24/7 throughout the withdrawal period. When necessary, medications are used to reduce the severity of withdrawal symptoms. When detoxification is complete, patients can move on to the next phase in their continuum of care as a resident or outpatient.

Inpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements. Residential addiction treatment at Valley Hope offers full-time care in a structured environment. They strongly believe in a 30-day treatment program. However, individual patient needs are always considered in determining length of stay. Most patients experience a residential treatment program that averages 17-30 days in length.

12-Step

12 step programs are based on a treatment model combining peer support with personal growth. The 12 steps of recovery deploy spiritual principles to promote participants’ psychological and emotional healing, enabling them to identify and address the origins of their addiction, accept responsibility for their life choices, and relinquish control over that which cannot be changed. Religious affiliation is not required, and most meetings are non-denominational, though some formats, such as Celebrate Recovery! are rooted in Biblical principles.

Aftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Clinical Services

Family Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Substance use disorder (SUD) affects more than just the person struggling with the disease. It impacts every member of the family. At Valley Hope, they understand the problems families face and offer a range of programs designed to alleviate feelings of fear, guilt, frustration and resentment. Through compassion and understanding, they help families heal and recover together.

Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.
