About this Facility

Turning Point is an alcohol and drug rehabilitation center in Moultrie, Georgia. The facility is located in a private, serene setting surrounded by nature and offers luxury amenities against this rustic backdrop. They serve men and women 18 and over.

Levels of care offered by Turning Point include residential rehab, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs. All programs feature a full continuum of care.

Clients residing on campus are provided with semi-private rooms for the duration of their stay. Residential treatment is focused on ongoing therapy to help clients discover their addiction triggers and develop healthy coping skills. Therapy takes place individually and in group settings.

Turning Point’s secluded setting minimizes distraction. That natural landscape, combined with the facility’s comfortable atmosphere, helps clients focus on their recovery. In addition, treatment plans are customized to fit each client’s needs.

Clients who are in the early stages of addiction may find IOP more accommodating. They visit the facility regularly for treatment rather than living onsite. This allows clients who are in stable living situations to stay at home and continue to work. In addition, clients in IOP receive the same types of care as those in residences.

PHP is a form of inpatient treatment but is less intensive than a residential program. Clients reside in a safe, controlled environment where they are given more opportunities to practice the skills they learned in therapy while receiving 24 hour care from staff. PHP is sometimes used as a transitioning phase after completion of the inpatient program.

Detoxification occurs onsite and is overseen by medical staff. Medication is used to help clients cope with withdrawal symptoms during the process. Clients are closely monitored throughout the process.

The co-diagnosis care treats mental health and behavioral concerns that are often present alongside addiction. It utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and the 12 Step model to promote introspection and personal responsibility.

Turning Point is accredited by the Joint Commission.

Treatment

Alcoholism

Alcoholism is a pattern of alcohol use that involves continued drinking even when it causes problems. Alcoholism is also characterized by a physical dependence on alcohol, which causes the body to experience withdrawal symptoms when alcohol is not present. Due to this physical dependence, medically-supervised detox is often necessary to safely recover from alcoholism. Alcohol rehab in Georgia offers a three-step process of detox, rehab, and maintenance to help individuals recover from alcohol addiction.

Drug Addiction

A quality drug rehab in Georgia can help you overcome addiction. This environment is designed to help you address the complex issues contributing to drug dependence. The goal of treatment is to give you the tools you need to make a full recovery.

Dual Diagnosis

In Georgia, specialized dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs address co-occurring substance use disorders and mental health conditions. Care levels include outpatient, inpatient, and partial hospitalization. Therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy, or dialectical behavioral therapy, equine therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, skills training, and recovery groups — like 12-step — support you in achieving sobriety and sustaining recovery. Developing the tools to establish a solid support system (or strengthen an existing one) will also increase your chances of long-term recovery success.

Mental Health and Substance Abuse

Dual-diagnosis rehabs in Georgia can help to support individuals struggling with both mental health and substance abuse through holistic treatment programs that address both issues simultaneously. Co-occurring disorder treatment typically includes counseling, medication support, therapy, group sessions, and skills training. This integrated approach treats the whole person and improves recovery outcomes by equipping participants with the necessary skills to continue their recovery.

Opioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Level of Care

Outpatient

Outpatient rehab enables clients to receive addiction treatment while continuing to work and reside at home. Many programs offer evening, night, and weekend services so that clients may receive treatment on their own schedule. Outpatient treatment modalities typically include addiction counseling, recovery-focused life skills training, and/or medication assisted treatment (MAT). Many programs also provide step-down care, including partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and standard outpatient services, to align with clients’ evolving needs.

Medically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Intensive Outpatient

Clients enrolled in an intensive outpatient program (IOP) travel to treatment centers for specialized care multiple times per week. Intensive outpatient treatment allows clients to receive robust care while continuing to live at home. Most programs require between nine and 20 treatment hours per week, with the frequency and intensive of sessions decreasing as clients stabilize. Services generally include a combination of addiction counseling, medication assisted treatment (MAT), recovery-focused life skills training, and holistic therapies.

Inpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

24-Hour Clinical Care

At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.

12-Step

Participants in 12 step recovery programs focus on personal growth to address the emotional and psychological factors contributing to their addiction. 12 step recovery is rooted in spiritual development, but religious affiliation isn’t required. Regular group meetings and individualized support with the help of self-selected sponsors promote participants’ sobriety as they work through the 12 steps, gaining insight into their addiction, taking responsibility for their life choices, and releasing control over that which is uncontrollable.

Aftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Clinical Services

Family Therapy

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Turning Point has expanded its program menu to meet the acute need for trauma stabilization services. This program is designed to deliver highly individualized treatment for patients severely impacted by traumatic experiences. Patients receive a full range of treatment services which includes daily group therapy, recreation therapy, and three individual sessions per week.
