About this Facility

Transitional Living Communities Sunnyslope House is a transitional living home for clients in recovery from substance abuse in Phoenix, Arizona, just north of Arizona Canal Trail. It consists of eight apartments in a single building.

Transitional living communities like Sunnyslope help clients who have recently completed a treatment program and want additional time or assistance before returning to their daily lives. Unlike an inpatient program, clients are free to come and go as they please, as long as they follow the rules.

Transitional living homes (also known as sober living homes) are supportive peer environments for clients in recovery. A program typically oversees the community, but clients otherwise have much autonomy over themselves and their living space. As a housing program, this is not a clinical or medical treatment program.

Qualifying clients must follow a set of rules in order to remain in the residence. Typically, this includes completing chores around the home and maintaining a job, but this isn’t always the case. Sunnyslope House is near several 12-Step meeting groups, so clients can continue to participate in AA, NA, and similar groups.

Clients are advised that in network and out of network insurance benefits can vary. Before enrolling in a program, clients should first confirm their coverage with their insurance provider.

Treatment

Alcoholism

Alcohol use disorder (AUD), also referred to as alcoholism and alcohol addiction, is a chronic condition that involves craving alcohol and an inability to control drinking. A person with AUD must drink greater and greater amounts of alcohol to achieve the same effects and experiences withdrawal symptoms if they stop drinking alcohol. Several evidence-based methods are available to treat AUD through alcohol rehab in Arizona. This treatment can occur on an outpatient or inpatient basis.

Drug Addiction

Drug rehab in Arizona is the process of treating individuals who are dependent on a particular addictive drug. Because addiction is complex, this treatment typically includes a variety of interventions that address the many physical and emotional issues involved.

Mental Health and Substance Abuse

Dual-diagnosis rehabs in Arizona typically provide comprehensive treatment for both mental health and substance abuse. These types of specialized facilities address both issues at the same time, through substance abuse evaluations and personalized treatment plans, evidence-based therapies like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), medication management, and skill development. By focusing on both aspects of your mental health and treating your addiction, you’ll gain vital skills to cope with cravings, manage stress, and prevent relapse.

Opioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Clinical Services

Individual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.
