Toiyabe Indian Health Project - Family Services is a mental and behavioral health facility located in Bishop, California. The center offers treatment programs for American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) children and adults with co-occuring conditions, including psychiatric disorders, case management, dual diagnosis substance use disorder, alcohol use disorder, and other addictions. Toiyabe Indian Health Project also provides general outpatient (OP) care, aftercare, geriatric care, and holistic therapy programs.
Clients at Toiyabe Indian Health Project – Family Services undergo a personal evaluation and a customized treatment program. Care can include individual and group counseling and therapy, life-skills development, preventive strategies, trauma care, and education. Additional treatment includes art therapy and indigenous cultural awareness and practices. Clients participate in community events in the surrounding desert landscape.
Upon completing the outpatient program, clients receive continuous care and peer support. Home visits and checkups for women and children may also be available.Toiyabe Indian Health Project may provide referrals for additional specialized care at other facilities.

The center accepts Covered California and Medicare, and is in-network with major insurance providers, such as Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Healthnet, Humana, TRICARE, United Healthcare, the VA, and many others. HMO insurance is not accepted. Please contact your insurance provider for specific details concerning out-of-network coverage. American Indian and Alaskan Natives may be eligible for Contract Care to assist with payment costs.
