About this Facility

The Salvation Army- Adult Rehab, located in Memphis, Tennessee, is a faith based residential work therapy program for men and women who are seeking treatment for alcohol and drug addiction. To participate, one must meet certain eligibility requirements and be able to agree to all required activities.

The Salvation Army- Adult Rehab offers residential, outpatient, and 12 Step focused recovery.

The Salvation Army- Adult Rehab is a 180 day program that is free for those who meet eligibility requirements. This program requests a six month commitment to assist participants in creating new, healthy patterns in their lives. To qualify, detoxification must have already taken place. No sex offenders will be allowed to participate, and those with serious mental health diagnoses are not suitable for this program. Within this process, working eight hours a day and participating in groups and classes is mandatory.

The intensive outpatient program offered by The Salvation Army is a step down from residential treatment, and it is most suitable for those looking to continue their treatment with less supervision. The program’s approach is a 12 Step abstinent model that requires a commitment to living a life of recovery. Given this program allows treatment to happen with some schedule flexibility, work responsibilities, family responsibilities, and personal responsibilities can still take place around treatment.

The 12 Step program is a common recovery model based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a plan for recovery based in a Higher Power. Middle steps include self-examination and making amends to those who’ve been hurt by the addiction. The later steps include continuing to take personal inventory while living a life of recovery and supporting others in doing the same. Additional 12 Step groups include Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) Gamblers Anonymous (GA), to name a few.

Treatment

Alcoholism

Alcohol use disorder (AUD) is a treatable condition characterized by uncontrolled consumption of alcohol which continues despite negative consequences. Treatment options for alcohol addiction include inpatient or outpatient alcohol rehab in Tennessee. Therapeutic methods include group and individual therapy, medication, and holistic therapies. Aftercare is often provided through 12-step support groups, which offer ongoing accountability and encouragement.

Drug Addiction

When your day-to-day life is taken over by drug use, this is known as substance use disorder. If you abruptly stop using your drug of choice, you experience withdrawal symptoms. To overcome this cycle, professional drug rehab in Tennessee is usually needed.

Opioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance Abuse

Substance abuse treatment in Tennessee is available in addiction treatment centers, where experienced addiction professionals can treat both substance use disorders. Typically, clinicians use a range of evidence-based therapies such as a biopsychosocial assessment, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and motivational interviewing to get a complete picture of your mental health, support systems, and motivation to change. Through an individualized treatment plan, you’ll receive the support you need to achieve long-term sobriety through new skills and relapse prevention strategies.

Level of Care

Intensive Outpatient

Clients in intensive outpatient programs (IOP) receive robust, personalized care to support their reintegration into their community. Clients stepping down from inpatient treatment frequently enroll in IOP before entering standard outpatient care or community-based recovery programs, such as AA. Intensive outpatient treatment generally involves between nine and 20 therapeutic hours weekly, with the frequency and duration of sessions decreasing as clients stabilize. IOP services commonly include counseling, recovery education, holistic therapies, and medication assisted treatment (MAT).

Aftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Inpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Clinical Services

Group Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.
