The Lotus Collaborative Eating Disorder Recovery

San Francisco, California, 1610 Union Street, 94123

About this Facility

The Lotus Collaborative offers partial hospitalization programs (PHPs), intensive outpatient programs (IOPs), and general outpatient treatment of eating disorders and mental health concerns to adults and adolescents aged 14 and older in San Francisco, California. Their somatic MindBody approach includes somatic experiencing alongside traditional methods.

Mental health treatment at the Lotus Collaborative takes place during an IOP or in general outpatient care. The IOP includes nine to 15 hours of treatment in three to four sessions per week. General outpatient treatment meets for one hour per week. Services include individual, group, and family therapy, process groups, and skill-building groups. If appropriate, clients will receive referrals to more intensive care, such as alcohol and drug rehab.

Eating disorder treatment options include a PHP that meets six hours per day, five to seven days per week, an IOP that meets three hours per day, four to seven days per week, and general outpatient treatment that meets once or twice a week. Services include group therapy, nutrition education, and supervised meals and snacks.

The Lotus Collaborative accepts Anthem, Cigna, and MHN for eating disorder treatment. They may be able to use out-of-network benefits to reimburse clients for other care from plans such as Humana, Ambetter, Cigna, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Aetna, and more. Because insurance plans vary, be sure to verify coverage information and out-of-network details with the insurer.

Treatment

Mental Health

Inpatient treatment for drug and alcohol addiction with a focus on mental health is a good fit for people who need closer monitoring and care. Treatment may occur in a hospital setting, a clinic, or a luxury rehab center. Mental health counselors and staff are available 24/7. Therapies typically include group and individual counseling, relapse prevention education, and emotional coping skills training.

Level of Care

Inpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Clinical Services

Individual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.
