About this Facility

The Moving Ahead Program - MAP is a 14-week life skill and job readiness program for unemployed ex-offenders and other individuals with histories of substance abuse, homelessness, or mental illness. About 85% of MAP students have histories of incarceration or involvement with the courts. This program is part of St. Francis House and it's a place where they adress your problem and find a solution for it.

St. Francis House Philosophy is to help the people that suffer from poverty and homelessness by providing them their basic needs like food, clothing and shelter. They do this always protecting the dignity of those people.

They offer other programs such as art therapy, Basic services, Mental Health Care, Creative Innovations, Housing, Medical Clinic, Next Step program, Carolyn Connors Women’s Center, and Worforce Development. All of these programs are made to help the person recover from poverty or any other circumstance in which they are left to live in the streets.

Alcoholism

A person who has alcohol use disorder (alcoholism) builds up a physical tolerance to alcohol. If they try to stop drinking, they experience withdrawal symptoms.
