About this Facility

ShareHouse offers drug and alcohol recovery services in Fargo, North Dakota. They serve adults with evidence backed approaches, which they've continuously expanded since founding in 1975. It is a private residential setting with comfortable amenities.

Their Treatment University program has over 100 hours of educational opportunities for clients to partake in during treatment. Personalized treatment plans use the 12 step program as a foundation.

Inpatient programs are ideal for those with severe symptoms who could benefit most from close monitoring and access to a care team 24 hours a day. ShareHouse is an 87 bed facility with a relaxing, home like atmosphere, including a game room for leisure activities. The residential program promotes comfort as a means to make treatment more accessible.

Clients help their care teams build a custom treatment plan that addresses their concerns in a way they are comfortable with. Therapy, which takes place in group and individual settings, helps clients recognize their triggers and destructive behaviors and helps them develop healthy coping mechanisms to deal with them. Treatment also provides educational opportunities to help clients develop skills to benefit them during their recovery journey.

ShareHouse provides two levels of day programs: outpatient and intensive outpatient (IOP) care. IOP is offered as a transitional step from inpatient care to clients seeking treatment whose condition doesn’t require close monitoring. IOP transfers to inpatient upon completion.

IOP meets for three days a week, while outpatient meets for two. At both levels, clients learn new coping skills while engaging with one another in self help support groups. At this level of care, clients receive a mentor who provides additional ongoing support.

MAT is available for clients at any level of care when they are struggling with withdrawal symptoms. Medical staff administer and observe MAT to ensure clients get just what they need from approved medications that won’t interfere with the treatment program.

Treatment

Alcoholism

An alcohol use disorder is a condition in which your ability to control how much you drink is impaired. People with alcoholism typically require some form of alcohol rehab in North Dakota to recover from alcohol addiction. Treatment may involve individual or group counseling, residential rehab, or an outpatient program. Support systems are key during and after treatment, so family involvement and mutual-support groups are crucial.

Drug Addiction

The goal of drug rehab in North Dakota is to help individuals overcome addiction. These programs provide treatment for both mind and body and teach participants how to live healthy, productive lives without drug abuse.

Dual Diagnosis

Dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs in North Dakota provide comprehensive care for individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders and mental health conditions, in both inpatient and outpatient programs. You can typically expert treatment to include a mental health assessment and individualized treatment plan, individual and group therapy, evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), trauma-informed therapy, and skills development classes that address both disorders and promote overall mental health and well-being.

Mental Health and Substance Abuse

Mental health and substance abuse treatment in North Dakota provides holistic care for individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders and mental health challenges. These outpatient and inpatient programs are staffed by clinicians who utilize a range of evidence-based therapies, psychoeducation, recovery groups, and 12-step programming to support your recovery and improve your mental health. The benefits of dual-diagnosis treatment are improved mental health and well-being and you’ll have learned the tools to sustain your recovery.

Opioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Level of Care

Sober Living Homes

Residents of a sober living home in North Dakota pay a monthly fee for rent. This cost is typically not covered by insurance, but treatment received while staying at the home may be covered. While living in the halfway house, residents also maintain attendance in recovery groups, participate in household duties, and remain sober. Breaking established house rules can result in eviction.

12-Step

Recovery models based on 12 step programming combine intensive peer support with an emphasis on personal growth. Participants are expected to select a peer sponsor to mentor them through the recovery journey. 12 step recovery strategies are rooted in spiritual principles to promote self-compassion, acceptance, and accountability. Regular attendance at group meetings, which are free, anonymous, and open to the public, is expected. Specialized formats, including programs for seniors, youth, and families, are available in most communities.

24-Hour Clinical Care

At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.

Intensive Outpatient

Clients receiving treatment in an intensive outpatient program (IOP) often require higher-level support than those in standard outpatient (OP) programs. They are usually in early recovery or are experiencing crisis situations that increase their relapse risk. Intensive outpatient treatment generally involves nine to 20 hours of treatment weekly and may include a combination of addiction counseling, recovery education, medication assisted treatment (MAT), and holistic therapies, such as meditation, acupuncture, and massage.

Outpatient

Outpatient rehabs offer clients the freedom to remain in their home and community while receiving treatment. Many facilities also provide transitional support for clients who are stepping down from intensive inpatient care. The primary treatment modalities for most outpatient programs include addiction counseling, recovery-focused life skills training, and medication assisted treatment (MAT) for alcohol and/or opioid dependency. Integrative facilities also provide holistic therapies, such as meditation, acupuncture, and massage.

Aftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) Skills Group meets for one 2-hour session weekly. Group runs for a minimum of 16 weeks and new members are accepted once every 4 weeks. The group is open to men and women with any co-occurring diagnosis; however DBT is designed to target individuals with the chronic life management deficits that often result from personality disorders. Specifically, DBT builds skills in regulating emotion, tolerating distress, and interacting effectively and appropriately with others.

Activity Process Group is a weekly group for men to discuss issues of concern to them, as well as introduce participants to some fun/healthy ways to deal with those issues. This group will use activities as a means to process a variety of things that can be difficult for men to discuss, such as issues with their father or fears of being a father, ethical questions, dealing with loss and forgiveness, and the impact music plays in their lives.

ShareHouse Family and Recovery group is for any person in any level of care who has completed the Introduction to Family group. This group is more extensive than the introductory group and group members are encouraged to find meaning into their relationships, gain insight into their current and past relationships, and find ways to have healthier relationships. Some common topics of group include (but are not limited to): making amends and forgiveness in families, communication, regaining trust, and many interactive activities based on family backgrounds. The Family Education group is designed to educate family/loved one’s of someone who is in treatment by giving them a better understanding of addiction. It provides support for family/loved one’s who have a relationship with an addict.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication.
