Sahuaro Alano Club is a nonprofit alcohol and drug addiction support group in Phoenix, Arizona, just west of Winifred Park. Alano Clubs differ from traditional rehabilitation programs in that they aren't forms of direct care, but rather are peer-led recovery groups. They serve adult clients.
Alano Clubs are similar to traditional AA and NA groups, but they vary by location. Regardless, Alano Clubs serve as meeting places and support groups for clients in recovery who wish to help and be helped by others who are on the same journey they are.
Alano Clubs serve as spaces for different addiction recovery support groups, such as NA and AA. These groups typically don’t require membership dues or fees, but the club itself may charge to maintain the meeting space. These meetings do not feature clinical or medical treatment and are best suited for those who have been through or are currently in such programs.
Typical meetings follow the 12-Step model, which encourages clients to follow a series of steps to find recovery. These include admitting their addiction, relying on others in the group for help (and offering help to others), and making amends with those who have been hurt by their addiction (when appropriate). Clients who remain in the program eventually act as mentors to others.
Insurance is not necessary for Alano Clubs or meetings. However, when considering other rehabilitation programs, clients should always confirm coverage with their insurance provider before enrolling, since in network and out of network benefits can vary.

Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.
