About this Facility

ReDiscover is an alcohol and drug rehabilitation facility in Lee Summit, Missouri. Their two local facilities offer medical and clinical services to men, women, and children. In addition, they provide modern amenities in a relaxed and friendly environment.

ReDiscover is dedicated to supporting the friends and family of those in treatment and involves them in the treatment process to strengthen support networks during and after treatment.

The residential treatment gives clients at high risk a safe, stable environment to live in while receiving treatment. Residential treatment includes a furnished room and meals prepared by staff. Clients are monitored and have access to medical care 24 hours a day.

The focus of treatment is individual and group counseling, where clients are guided through and discuss the nature of their addiction and develop coping skills for healthy living. Counseling happens in individual and group settings, and clients are encouraged to share their experiences with one another. Clients are also provided with psychiatric services and case management services.

Inpatient care isn’t always necessary for clients. Those in the early stages of addiction, exhibiting mild symptoms, and coming from stable backgrounds are better suited for the outpatient program. While treatments available in outpatient care are the same as the inpatient program, clients aren’t continuously monitored. They can continue to live and work at home, only visiting the facility for treatment.

Clients attend treatment for a few hours a day on set days of the week. Schedules are flexible to accommodate other responsibilities clients have. Outpatient care is sometimes used as a transitional step from inpatient treatment if the client feels they need additional care as they transition into sober living.

Aftercare planning helps ensure continued success once treatment ends. A client’s care team will work with them to establish an action plan that promotes working towards personal goals and seeking additional support resources, such as meetings, in their community. Aftercare happens as part of the discharge process.

ReDiscover is accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation on Rehabilitation Facilities.

CARF Accreditation: Yes

Treatment

Alcoholism

Individuals who suffer from alcoholism drink to the extent that they harm themselves or others and have an impaired ability to stop drinking. Their alcohol use disorder may be classified as mild, moderate, or severe. At any level, alcohol rehab in Missouri can help individuals overcome alcohol addiction. Treatment includes physiological, psychological, and social aspects to provide comprehensive care that leads to long-term recovery.

Drug Addiction

Drug rehab in Missouri usually involves several phases: detox, rehab, and aftercare. The rehab phase may include a combination of inpatient and outpatient treatments, as the individual moves through a continuum of care on their recovery journey.

Dual Diagnosis

Specialized dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs in Missouri include inpatient residential rehab, outpatient, intensive outpatient, detox, and partial hospitalization programs. Offering a full continuum of care, their clinicians have the expertise to treat individuals with co-occurring substance use disorder and mental health conditions at the same time. The benefits of dual-diagnosis treatment are enhanced recovery outcomes, improved overall health and well-being, and it equips individuals with the information and skills required to sustain long-term sobriety.

Mental Health and Substance Abuse

In Missouri, dual-diagnosis rehabs offer comprehensive care for individuals facing both mental health and substance abuse challenges. These specialized facilities integrate evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), and experiential therapy to address both aspects of your well-being. Seeking help from an addiction and medical expert who can devise a personalized treatment plan tailored to your unique needs, you’ll drastically improve your mental health and long-term recovery outcomes.

Opioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Level of Care

Outpatient

Outpatient rehab enables clients to continue to work, attend school, or reside at home while undergoing treatment, including addiction counseling and recovery-focused life skills training. Evening, night, and weekend sessions are available at many facilities to ensure continuous access to care on the client’s schedule. Many centers also offer ancillary services, such as career coaching and peer mentoring, to promote clients’ sustained recovery and community integration. Higher-level outpatient treatment, including intensive outpatient (IOP) care, is also widely available.

Intensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient programs provide an intermediate level of care, often supporting clients’ transition from inpatient rehab to outpatient treatment. Most IOP programs require a minimum of nine therapeutic hours weekly, but clients may receive up to 20 hours of care, with the intensity and frequency of care declining as clients grow stronger in their sobriety. Intensive outpatient treatment generally combines addiction counseling, recovery education, holistic therapies, and, for some, medication assisted treatment (MAT).

Inpatient

For men and women who have substance dependency including those with co-occurring disorders such as mental illness and/or physical disability or chronic physical illness, ReDiscover offers residential substance use disorder treatment. Individuals receive day treatment at our outpatient locations and attend meetings in the community (Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous).

12-Step

12 step programs are designed to enable participants to understand and address the root causes of their addiction, accept responsibility for their life choices, and relinquish control over that which they cannot change. Participants are expected to regularly attend 12 step meetings and to be mentored in their recovery journey by a self-selected sponsor. Meetings are free, anonymous, and open to the public. A variety of formats are available, including programs for seniors, teens, family members, and nondenominational Christians.

Aftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Sober Living Homes

A sober living home in Missouri is designed to foster character development, accountability, camaraderie, and mutual peer encouragement. In this communal-living setting, individuals in recovery share household responsibilities and participate in 12-step programs together. Residents can remain in the home as long as they want, as long as they follow the house rules. An average stay in men’s or women’s sober living lasts between five and eight months.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.
