Project Chesapeake provides eligible individuals with medication management services at this addiction treatment center during predetermined hours.
The Level 3.1 residential treatment program is a low-level treatment modality for those who don’t require intensive substance abuse intervention. Level 3.1 consists of a group home, but patients are only required to receive a minimum of five hours of treatment per week. However, Level 3.1 is a 24 hour structured environment, with most staying between 90 and 180 days.
The Level 3.5 residential treatment program is a clinically managed inpatient substance abuse recovery program. This drug and alcohol treatment program is designed for individuals that require 24 hour oversight and are at risk of imminent harm. Usually, those with severe social or psychological co-occurring conditions enroll in this inpatient program at Project Chesapeake. The typical length of stay is between 30 to 90 days, depending on the individual.
The outpatient program offered at Project Chesapeake operates for 26 weeks. During this time, patients work on developing a sober support network, defense mechanisms, and relapse prevention. Those participating in this program must complete specific individualized treatment objectives before discharge.
The intensive outpatient program (IOP) offered by the Chesapeake Project provides a unique combination of individual and group counseling to enrolled adults for nine or more hours weekly. During this rehab program, IOP individuals are given the tools they need to recover and gain stability in the face of addiction.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.
Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.
This is a process through which clients work one-on-one with a trained counselor, in a safe, caring, and confidential environment to explore their feelings, beliefs, or behaviors, work through challenging or influential memories, identify aspects of their lives that they would like to change, better understand themselves and others, set personal goals, and work toward desired change. People seek counseling for a wide variety of reasons, from coping with major life challenges or childhood trauma, to dealing with substance abuse and simply desiring personal growth and greater self-knowledge.
