About this Facility

North Range Behavioral Health -- True North is an intensive drug and alcohol rehabilitation center in Greeley, Colorado. They are part of a network of behavioral services in the area, with True North serving adults at various stages of addiction. They are located downtown and have a relaxed atmosphere with modern amenities.

Levels of care provided by True North fluctuate based on a client’s progress. As a result, program lengths vary.

Clients in the inpatient program live on campus and have access to care 24 hours a day from support staff. Inpatient is recommended for those who are in dangerous or unstable living situations and experiencing severe symptoms. Patients are provided room and board so they can focus on treatment and healing.

Inpatient treatment plans are devised by clients working closely with their personal care team. While therapy is at the heart of addiction recovery, North Range Behavioral Health has several options available to choose from, including individual, group, and family therapy, and all are focused on recognizing and changing internal behaviors. Educational opportunities are also provided so clients can learn additional skills to help them return to their daily lives upon completion of the program.

This day program is ideal for those with less severe symptoms and who come from a supportive background. Clients do not live at the facility but visit for regular appointments with their care team. The same types of care are provided between the inpatient and outpatient programs, with the most significant difference being time spent in each: the outpatient program only meets for a few hours each session.

Clients leaving the inpatient program may transition into intensive outpatient care if they feel additional support is needed.

It’s been noted that those with substance abuse disorder often have or develop other behavioral disorders, like depression or anxiety. When they co-exist, the two problems can worsen one another, so much so that treating just addiction becomes much less effective. North Ridge Behavioral Health’s programs are equipped to treat co-occurring disorders when they are present to ensure long term recovery.

Treatment

Alcoholism

Alcoholism is defined as a physical dependence on alcohol. In this state, the body experiences withdrawal symptoms in the absence of alcohol. Over time, a person with alcohol use disorder also must drink greater amounts of alcohol to achieve the same effects. To overcome alcohol use disorder, alcohol rehab in Colorado is usually necessary, a process which includes supervised medical detox. This is followed by intensive rehab, then a maintenance program that may include 12-step support.

Drug Addiction

Professional services are often necessary to recover from addiction. Drug rehab in Colorado provides the expert services needed to address the complex issues of addiction and help individuals start their recovery journey.

Dual Diagnosis

Colorado offers dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs that encompass various levels of care to meet your individual needs, including medical detox, outpatient, inpatient, and partial hospitalization programs for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. These dual-diagnosis rehab programs incorporate evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to successfully address substance use disorders and co-occurring diagnoses.

Mental Health and Substance Abuse

Mental health and substance abuse treatment in Colorado is usually offered in dual-diagnosis rehabs. These programs provide comprehensive care tailored to your specific needs, which may include detox, inpatient residential treatment, intensive outpatient, or partial hospitalization. Addiction and medical experts at these dual-diagnosis facilities usually provide a comprehensive mental health assessment, individual and group counseling, psychoeducation, and skill development groups. By prioritizing a holistic approach to your mental and emotional health, you’ll also gain the confidence and tools to maintain your sobriety.

Opioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Level of Care

Outpatient

Outpatient rehabs offer a wide variety of services and levels of care to align with clients’ unique and evolving needs. Outpatient care is best suited for clients who are stable and for those who wish to remain at home while receiving treatment. Clients typically receive addiction counseling and recovery-focused life skills training, including participating in evening, night, and weekend sessions to accommodate clients’ schedules. Clients at an increased relapse risk may receive more frequent and intensive treatment.

Intensive Outpatient

Clients receiving care in an intensive outpatient program (IOP) engage in a minimum of nine hours of treatment per week on average. However, many intensive outpatient rehabs offer up to 20 therapeutic hours weekly. IOP services are ideal for those in early recovery or who are at an elevated risk of relapse. IOP may be chosen in lieu of inpatient rehab. Treatment modalities typically include psychotherapy, life skills training, medication assisted treatment (MAT), and holistic care.

Inpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Sober Living Homes

Residents of a sober living home in Colorado are encouraged to continue to develop coping skills and habits they learned in treatment. They can typically live at the halfway house as long as they want, until they feel they are ready to transition home. During their stay, they must adhere to house rules, which may include contributing to household chores, abiding by a curfew, and maintaining a job.

Clinical Services

Group Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.
