Treatment

Alcoholism

People with alcoholism (also known as alcohol dependence or alcohol use disorder) do not have reliable control of their alcohol use. They experience withdrawal symptoms if drinking suddenly stops. Due to these symptoms, medical detox is often best for those who seek treatment for alcohol addiction. Once this supervised process is complete, alcohol rehab in Oklahoma can provide further treatment and follow-up for recovery.

Drug Addiction

To address the issues of addiction, each drug rehab in Oklahoma is tailored to meet the individual’s needs. Treatment may occur in a residential or outpatient setting, and may last from a few days to several months.

Opioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance Abuse

Addiction treatment programs in Oklahoma help individuals to address substance abuse problems. With various programs available, including outpatient, inpatient, and partial hospitalization, you can find the right level of care. Typically, you can expect treatment programs to incorporate evidence-based therapies, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), skills training, recovery meetings, and mindfulness-based therapy. When integrated, these therapeutic interventions can help you successfully overcome substance abuse and continue to enjoy long-term mental health.

Level of Care

Medically Assisted Detox

The New Life Detoxification is a combination of exercise, sweating in a dry-heat sauna and a carefully monitored regimen of hydration and nutrition. The procedures break up and flush out the toxic residues that remain in the body—even after the person has stopped taking drugs.

12-Step

12 step programs invoke spiritual principles to promote participants’ psychological and emotional growth and healing, though religious affiliation is not required. Their primary treatment modalities include intensive peer support and recovery-focused life skills training based on the 12 steps of recovery. Participants regularly engage in peer-led group meetings, which are free, anonymous, and available throughout the day and night in most communities. Sponsors provide one-on-one mentoring as participants cultivate self-awareness, forgiveness, acceptance, and accountability.

Inpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Clinical Services

Experiential Therapy

Following drug-free withdrawal and New Life Detoxification, the Narconon student moves on to the Objectives. Drugs dull a person’s awareness and throws him out of communication with his environment. Objectives help bring the student into communication with others and with the present environment, extroverting the student’s attention from disturbing memories associated with drug use and enabling the student to achieve a wider perspective that is less subjective and more objective. He is able to view the world around him clearly, often for the first time in years.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These are skills that people struggling with substance abuse have often lost sight of—or never had. Effective practice and learning leads to stability and a return of personal values. Just as important, these courses help a person develop the self-control and personal backbone necessary to maintain a drug-free life.

To function properly, the body requires vitamins and minerals; drugs and alcohol burn up vitamins and minerals and mask the painful signs that the body is failing. When the person stops taking drugs, the pain and discomfort are manifested in withdrawal. In addition to assists and objectives, a vitamin and mineral formula is taken by students for support during the withdrawal process to help repair the body.
