Mission Teens – The Lion’s Den MBTC (Mission Bible Training Center), located in Roscommon Michigan, is a division of Mission Teens, Inc., a non-denominational Christian Discipleship that helps people recover from life-controlling problems, including substance abuse. The Mission Teens program provides residential housing, leadership training, life skills training, and a drug-free environment.
Mission Teens’ residency is open to both teens and adults. The Mission’s program involves a 4-stage process of Christian discipleship training, each lasting 2-4 months, and providing increasing levels of responsibility at each stage.
The first phase includes an induction period with few responsibilities except for following the rules and beginning Bible study. The next two stages include taking part in general household duties; they also include privileges of phone calls and visits from family members or spiritual counselors. The final phase involves “counselor training,” where senior residents each counsel one new resident a day and make reports to senior staff.
Upon completion of the program, an offer to attain an additional 10-12 months of training that leads to a staff position may be offered.
There is no charge to residents for services. Mission funding comes from private donations and voluntary donations from individual churches who share the Mission’s goals.
