About this Facility

Michigan Medicine–Beecher High School, in Mount Morris, Michigan, provides school-based mental and behavioral health services for youth aged 21 and under and their families. They offer medical and mental health assessments, personalized care planning, and general school-based care, including dedicated services for clients with hearing impairment, LGBTQ+ clients, bilingual clients, and clients with co-occurring disorders.

Levels of care include outpatient, inpatient, and partial hospitalization options. Using a combination of evidence-based therapies, trauma-informed care, group therapy, and psychoeducation, clinicians can help you address the underlying cause of your addiction, treat both disorders, and promote overall mental health and well-being. You’ll also develop a support network and enhance your coping skills.

Inpatient addiction treatment includes mental health services designed to help you succeed in recovery or avoid relapse. Standard treatments include individual and group therapy sessions, relapse prevention education, and coping skills training. One of the main goals of therapy in rehab is to help you improve your mental health, eliminate patterns of unhealthy thinking that tend to drive or support self-destructive behaviors, and replace unhealthy patterns with healthy and rational thought patterns.

Inpatient

The University of Michigan Adult Inpatient Psychiatry Program at U-M Hospital provides diagnostic evaluations and comprehensive, individualized treatment for patients with serious psychiatric illnesses. They realize that patients may come to their unit for care under difficult circumstances, and they are dedicated to working together to facilitate a healthy and effective process of healing.

24-Hour Clinical Care

At certain points in the recovery process, it's important to have support available 24/7. 24-hour clinical care offers a safe environment in which to recover from drug or alcohol addiction in peace, knowing medical detox and other treatment will happen with professionals on hand.

Intensive Outpatient

Clients receiving care in an intensive outpatient program (IOP) typically have completed inpatient treatment, but some choose to enroll in IOP immediately following detox. Intensive outpatient rehabs offer high-level support for clients in early recovery and those at an increased risk of relapse. Most programs provide between nine and 20 hours of treatment per week, with services ranging from addiction counseling to recovery education to medication assisted treatment (MAT). Holistic therapies, such as acupuncture, are common.

Outpatient

Clients receiving care at an outpatient rehab remain in their own homes and attend treatment as often as daily, depending on the level of need. Outpatient care generally consists of psychotherapy, addiction education, life skills training, and community reintegration support. Many outpatient treatment centers provide step-down care, including partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), sober living, and standard outpatient services. Some outpatient rehabs also offer ambulatory medical detox and medication assisted treatment (MAT).

Intervention Services

Prevention and Early Intervention Groups providing additional support for adolescents at higher risk, such as, those who have parents using substances, those who have experimented with substances, and/or those who have family or peer difficulties. They can guide intervention participants in describing the damage the addict’s behavior is causing and that outside help is necessary to address the addiction. The ideal outcome of an intervention is for the addict to go to rehab and get the help they need.

Aftercare Support

They work collaboratively with patients during their stay to plan for their continued treatment once they leave the hospital. When the time comes for patients to return home, they help patients incorporate ongoing psychiatric management into their treatment plans. They work closely with outpatient programs and clinics – both at U-M and elsewhere – to smooth the transition from the hospital to follow-up care. They also provide information and resources to help patients better manage their illnesses on their own and with the help of family and friends. Appointments with outpatient provider(s) will be made before a patient leaves the hospital.
