About this Facility

Praxis of Cleveland by Landmark Recovery is an accredited Medicaid addiction treatment center located in the Euclid suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. This 55,982 square foot drug rehab center provides personalized care to adults with substance abuse disorders.

Through their full continuum of care, Praxis delivers individualized treatment plans that include various addiction treatment services.

Medical detoxification is often the first phase in recovery and can last between 7-13 days. This medically supervised process can include medication-assisted treatment (MAT) if necessary. MAT combines federally approved medications to help relieve withdrawal symptoms with therapy, counseling, and psychoeducation.

Praxis provides a 60 bed residential treatment program with various amenities including workout equipment, a spacious courtyard, a ping pong table, and a volleyball net. Treatment plans integrate evidence based therapies with holistic practices to meet the unique needs of each patient. The average stay varies as it depends on each patient but often ranges between 30-45 days.

The partial hospitalization program (PHP) at Praxis provides semi intensive therapeutic care for patients who require comprehensive support without the need for 24/7 care. This program includes a combination of group therapy, individual counseling, and medication management.

For individuals seeking a flexible, yet robust recovery program, Praxis offers an intensive outpatient program (IOP). This program integrates individual therapy, group counseling, and psychoeducation, allowing patients to receive treatment while maintaining their daily responsibilities.

Praxis’s outpatient treatment program allows for flexibility, offering individuals the opportunity to engage in treatment while maintaining their daily responsibilities. Patients receive comprehensive care, including individual and group counseling, and psychoeducation.

Treatment

Substance Abuse

Ohio’s substance abuse treatment programs can support individuals struggling with drug and alcohol use. Typically available on an outpatient or inpatient basis, these programs employ evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and holistic approaches to provide effective addiction treatment. This comprehensive approach ensures long-term sobriety, improved mental health, and coping skills to overcome risk of relapse.

Level of Care

Inpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Medically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. The length of stay at the detoxification program is determined according to the specific needs of the patient.

Partial Hospitalization Program

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.

Intensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) are designed for clients who need frequent, high-level care but do not require, or choose to forgo, inpatient treatment. Most intensive outpatient rehabs offer a minimum of nine hours of treatment weekly, though clients may receive up to 20 hours of care as needed. These programs typically combine various treatment modalities, including individual, group, and family counseling, medication assisted treatment (MAT), addiction and recovery education, and evidence-based complementary therapies, such as acupuncture and massage.

Aftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Clinical Services

Group Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.
