Heartland Center for Behavioral Change offers a withdrawal management program that operates as a stand alone facility for those who are experiencing a need for acute withdrawal care while detoxing from alcohol or drugs. This program offers 24 hours care from licensed physicians in a comfortable residential setting. Individual counseling and transition planning are included.
Inpatient treatment is for those who need mental and physical stabilization. This is a highly structured and monitored style of treatment that often incorporates detoxification into the process. Once stabilization has been achieved, counseling, educational classes, and behavioral approaches to treatment can begin. Common elements of inpatient include individual therapy, group therapy, and at times medication or trauma informed counseling.
Outpatient Programming at Heartland Center for Behavioral Change offers comprehensive diagnostic assessments, individual and group counseling, dialectic educational groups, community support assistance, and self help groups. Medication assistance can also be offered. The outpatient program is a step down from more intensive treatment programs such as inpatient or partial hospitalization. The goal is to provide continued mental and behavioral support through the lens of addiction treatment to foster a long term recovery plan.
At Heartland Center for Behavioral Change, the Medication Assisted Treatment Program provides medications along with comprehensive medical, psychiatric, and behavioral counseling. FDA approved medications are used to support withdrawal from opioid drugs and to help maintain long term abstinence. By combining medication with mental health treatment, a greater chance of success is achieved for long term abstinence.
This program exists to offer screenings to determine the most appropriate level of treatment for those with alcohol or drug related violations. The assessment screening process consists of a review of the person’s driving record, breath alcohol content at the time of arrest, a computer interpreted assessment, and an interview with a qualified substance use disorder professional.

It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.
Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.
Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.
In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.
