About this Facility

Greenhouse Outpatient Treatment Center is a CARF-accredited addiction treatment center in Arlington, TX. With a focus on holistic recovery, the center's outpatient program specifically caters to those seeking flexible yet effective treatment solutions for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders.

Greenhouse Outpatient Treatment Center’s outpatient program in Arlington is designed to cater to the diverse needs of those battling addiction:

Understanding that not every individual requires or can commit to residential care, Greenhouse offers a structured outpatient program. This program provides the necessary therapeutic interventions while allowing individuals to continue with their daily lives, blending flexibility with effective treatment.

For those needing a bit more structure than standard outpatient care, the intensive outpatient program (IOP) at Greenhouse offers an elevated level of support. Through multiple sessions each week, it provides a more rigorous therapeutic environment, ensuring individuals receive the care they need while still engaging with their personal and professional commitments.

Serving as a bridge between inpatient and outpatient care, the partial hospitalization program (PHP) at Greenhouse ensures individuals get intensive therapeutic support during the day while returning to their homes in the evenings. This balance offers a deep engagement with treatment without complete immersion in a residential setting.

Greenhouse provides evidence-based treatments. By integrating proven therapeutic techniques like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), the center ensures individuals get the best modalities tailored to their unique needs.

In addition to conventional treatments, Greenhouse emphasizes the importance of holistic therapies. From yoga and meditation to art and music therapy, these approaches aim to heal not just the mind, but also the body and spirit, offering a rounded recovery experience.

Treatment

Alcoholism

Alcoholism occurs when a person becomes physically and psychologically dependent on alcohol. Attending a professional alcohol rehab in Texas can provide customized intervention methods to address the physical, mental, and relational challenges of addiction.

Drug Addiction

During rehab in Texas, you’ll deal with underlying issues that contribute to addiction. By addressing these challenges and learning healthy ways to cope with them, you’ll develop strategies that help you live a drug-free lifestyle.

Dual Diagnosis

Texas's specialized dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs prioritize comprehensive care for individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders and mental health conditions. These programs offer diverse levels of care, including outpatient, inpatient, and partial hospitalization options. Evidence-based therapies, trauma-informed care, group work, and educational workshops help treat both conditions at the same time and give you the tools to sustain mental health and sobriety.

Mental Health and Substance Abuse

In Texas, dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs can treat individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse challenges. Usually offered on an inpatient or outpatient rehab basis, clinicians provide individual and group therapy, medication-assisted treatment, cognitive behavioral therapy, or dialectical behavioral therapy, and skills training to address both disorders and equip you with the skills to maintain your recovery.

Opioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Level of Care

Medically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one’s body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. Not every client requires medically supervised detox. On arrival, Greenhouse medical staff assesses the client for current substance use, length of abuse, severity of physical dependence on a drug or drugs, and anticipated physical withdrawal symptoms.

Intensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient programs offer high-level care for clients as an increased risk of relapse, including those in early recovery, those with a strong history of relapse, and those experiencing a crisis. Intensive outpatient treatment typically requires clients to engage in nine to 20 hours of care weekly, with treatment modalities that combine psychotherapy and recovery education, and holistic therapies, such as acupuncture and animal therapy. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is also common in alcohol and/or opioid recovery.

Inpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements. In the Residential Treatment (RT) program, the client receives 24/7 supervision. The Greenhouse staff ensures client safety while the client attends individual therapy sessions, addiction therapy groups, and participates in other therapeutic activities.

Aftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn’t spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA). For a successful long-term recovery following treatment, Greenhouse encourages the client to continue practicing the alternate behaviors and recovery skills developed in therapy and groups. They strongly urge involvement with fellow Greenhouse alumni through our AAC Alumni network and recommend participation in recovery organizations such as 12-Step groups.

12-Step

12 step programs promote participants’ sustained sobriety through rigorous and ongoing peer coaching and personal spiritual growth. Participants routinely attend 12 step meetings, which are available multiple times per day, 365 days per year in most communities. This ensures that those in recovery have prompt access to the structure and support they need when they need it. These programs use spiritual precepts to address the root causes of addiction and encourage compassion, self-awareness, forgiveness, accountability, and acceptance.

Outpatient

Clients are typically admitted to outpatient rehab once they have completed intensive inpatient care. Some clients who are exiting inpatient detox may also choose to transition directly into outpatient care. High-intensity outpatient programming, including partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) is widely available for clients in early recovery, those leaving detox, and those at an elevated relapse risk. Clients in outpatient care generally engage in robust addiction counseling and recovery education. Those in opioid and/or alcohol recovery may also receive medication assisted treatment (MAT).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Creativity is inherently healing, and can help those in recovery express thoughts or feelings they might not otherwise be able to. Creative arts therapy can include music, poetry/writing, painting, sculpting, dance, theater, sandplay, and more. Unlike traditional art, the final product matters far less than the experience of creation and expression itself.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation. Since everyone close to the client is touched by the addiction, Greenhouse Outpatient encourages family involvement (spouses, partners, children, and loved ones) as a component of each client’s treatment plan. Encouragement from family/loved ones is beneficial and positively impacts recovery. With the client’s consent, if family members (and others essential in the recovery process) agree to participate, family therapy sessions will be held periodically throughout treatment. Family therapy sessions will be held onsite or via conference call, and frequency will be determined according to the client’s individualized treatment plan.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.
