About this Facility

Genesis MBTC, also known as Mission Teens, is a non-denominational Christian discipleship ministry located in Northport, Alabama. This is a faith-based drug rehab program for teens that ministers the Gospel of Jesus Christ to help teens overcome life-altering and life-controlling problems.

Genesis MBTC offers residential alcohol and drug rehab treatment services using faith-based tools that include the teachings of Jesus Christ.

The residential treatment program at Genesis MBTC is a highly structured program with a rigid daily schedule. Through Bible study and faith-based initiatives, this program seeks to heal individuals from all problems that control their lives, including drugs and alcohol. The residential program is considered a discipleship training program and requires 5 ½ hours of Bible study per day. This includes a comprehensive study of the New Testament and a general study of the Old Testament. The program lasts 8-16 months, depending on the needs of each person. It is divided into four distinct phases that build upon one another in terms of responsibility and privileges afforded over time for progress made. The last phase includes counselor training and requires that participants offer at least one daily counseling session to new members of the program.

Faith-based treatment utilizes the spiritual beliefs and teachings of a particular faith to help individuals overcome addiction. Through a connection to their Higher Power or the God of their religion, clients overcome defeating behaviors. This usually involves daily time spent in prayer, devotion, or reflection to create a deeper connection and feeling of support.

Individual therapy creates the space to explore the psychological challenges associated with the addiction. With the help of a professional, individuals are given the space and direction to talk about and process their emotions. Often this includes unresolved trauma, anger, depression, anxiety, and the need for more control or autonomy in life.
