About this Facility

Ebony House - Women's Residential is a nonprofit mental health and substance abuse treatment program headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, east of Grand Canal Trail. They combine a safe and supportive environment with evidence-based professional treatment methods to help clients find and maintain recovery. This program serves pregnant and parenting women aged 18 years and older.

The women’s residential program is specially designed to address the needs and challenges faced by women. The community environment fosters and encourages peer support opportunities. Services include residential treatment and co-occurring disorder treatment (dual diagnosis).

Inpatient programs offer high-level care, usually designed for clients with severe symptoms. Such clients may need outside supervision to ensure their safety, which this program provides. Clients reside in the community home for the duration of treatment.

While there, clients participate in a treatment plan tailored to their needs. Services offered include counseling (individual and group), assessments, relapse-prevention education and strategies, motivational interviewing, and family interventions. Daycare services are also available for clients with children.

A mental illness that exists alongside substance use disorder (SUD) is known as a co-occurring disorder. Specialized treatment for co-occurring disorders can reduce the risk of relapse and make treatment more effective by recognizing and treating the symptoms of both problems at once.

Because in network and out of network benefits can vary, clients are always encouraged to confirm coverage with their insurance carrier before starting a treatment program.

Accreditations

State License

State Licenses are permits issued by government agencies that allow rehab organizations to conduct business legally within a certain geographical area. Typically, the kind of program a rehab facility offers, along with its physical location, determines which licenses are required to operate legally.

State License: Arizona

Treatment

Alcoholism

Alcohol use disorder (AUD), also referred to as alcoholism and alcohol addiction, is a chronic condition that involves craving alcohol and an inability to control drinking. A person with AUD must drink greater and greater amounts of alcohol to achieve the same effects and experiences withdrawal symptoms if they stop drinking alcohol. Several evidence-based methods are available to treat AUD through alcohol rehab in Arizona. This treatment can occur on an outpatient or inpatient basis.

Drug Addiction

Drug rehab in Arizona is the process of treating individuals who are dependent on a particular addictive drug. Because addiction is complex, this treatment typically includes a variety of interventions that address the many physical and emotional issues involved.

Mental Health and Substance Abuse

Dual-diagnosis rehabs in Arizona typically provide comprehensive treatment for both mental health and substance abuse. These types of specialized facilities address both issues at the same time, through substance abuse evaluations and personalized treatment plans, evidence-based therapies like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), medication management, and skill development. By focusing on both aspects of your mental health and treating your addiction, you’ll gain vital skills to cope with cravings, manage stress, and prevent relapse.

Opioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Level of Care

Outpatient

Many clients who enroll in an outpatient rehab program are exiting intensive inpatient care and no longer require such high-level clinical supervision. Outpatient programs typically follow a step-down structure, with treatment frequency and intensity decreasing as clients progress in their recovery journey. Partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) levels of care are the most time-intensive and are designed primarily for clients who have just left inpatient treatment or who are at an elevated risk of relapse.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.
