C.U.R.A. in Oakland, California is a sober living residence that offers substance-free living and accountability to adult men aged 18 and older. They also offer progress reports and other services to justice-involved residents.
Sober living is a common next step after alcohol or drug rehab. C.U.R.A.’s sober living home encourages men in recovery to look for and get full-time work, create a support system that will help them stay substance-free, and create healthy living habits.
Along with sober living, C.U.R.A. offers an aftercare program that includes education about addiction, relapse prevention tools, recognition of substance use patterns, and education about the risk of relapse.
Sober living is generally not covered by insurance. Those who are receiving outpatient treatment or other services may be able to use private insurance, such as Humana, Aetna, ComPsych, Magellan Health, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and United Health. Because every insurance plan is different, be sure to contact your insurance company to verify out-of-network benefits and other coverage information.
