About this Facility

Coleman Community Services is an alcohol and drug addiction treatment center in Helena, Montanna. Through counseling and therapy services, they help adult clients address the root of their addictive behaviors while learning the skills necessary to cope with symptoms and lead productive lives in recovery. They are a private facility with modern amenities. In addition to individual treatment, Coleman Community Services offers group therapy and education through its intensive outpatient program (IOP).

IOP is the highest level of care available at Coleman Community Services. Clients visit the facility three times a week for nine hours of treatment weekly while continuing to live at home. Clients have some flexibility in determining their treatment schedule.

IOP provides individual and group treatment. Counseling helps clients better understand addictive behaviors and develop healthy coping skills in their place. They also foster communication and self awareness so clients can better recognize and process their emotions and act as an introduction to support groups outside of treatment.

The outpatient day program is a less intensive version of IOP, with fewer sessions required each week. Outpatient care focuses on individual counseling that seeks to identify the roots of a client’s addiction and address the negative habits that facilitate it before developing healthy habits and coping skills to replace them.

Outpatient treatment occurs in a private, relaxed setting that facilitates open communication. In addition to substance use disorder (SUD) treatment, Coleman Community Services offers anger management classes.

Prime 4 Life is a two day substance use prevention course led by Colman Community Services staff. Prime 4 Life is sometimes court ordered but is available to anyone pending class size limitations. Like the counseling services, this class takes place in a relaxed group setting focusing on psychoeducation. The purpose is to examine substance abuse, how such problems arise, and how to prevent them.

Level of Care

Outpatient

Clients enrolled in outpatient rehab typically reside in their own homes and many continue to work and/or attend school while receiving addiction treatment. The frequency and intensity of outpatient treatment varies based upon the clients’ evolving needs. Many programs offer a full continuum of outpatient care, including partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), sober living/halfway housing, and standard outpatient services. The most common treatment modalities are psychotherapy, life skills training, and medication assisted treatment (MAT).

Intensive Outpatient

Clients who wish to remain in or return to their own homes but who still need robust care may enroll in an intensive outpatient program (IOP). These programs feature frequent, high-level treatment, often combining a variety of modalities, including addiction counseling, recovery education, and holistic therapies. Clients in alcohol and/or opioid recovery may also receive medication assisted treatment (MAT). Most intensive outpatient rehabs require clients to participate in nine to 20 hours of treatment weekly.
