About this Facility

CODAC Behavioral Health is a private nonprofit substance abuse and mental health rehabilitation facility in East Providence, Rhode Island, east of the Seekonk River. They provide integrated care services, with target care for pregnant women and other high risk clients. They serve adult clients. CODAC individualized treatment programs emphasize whole person care. CODAC staff coordinate their services with a client's other healthcare providers to ensure they receive continuous care in the areas where they need it most. Services offered include:

MAT is an essential component of treating opioid addiction. Through the use of FDA approved medications, MAT can reduce or eliminate a client’s withdrawal symptoms, allowing them to receive treatment with fewer distractions. MAT is given alongside therapy and counseling.

IOP is a four to six week program designed for clients who want a higher level of care. IOP allows clients to visit the facility on an intensive schedule while living at home. During their visits, clients participate in therapy and other recovery activities.

The outpatient program is similar to IOP, but clients meet at the facility less often, have shorter sessions, or both.

Because in network and out of network benefits vary amongst coverage plans, clients should contact their carrier to confirm their coverage before enrolling in a treatment program.

Treatment

Alcoholism

Many people with alcohol use disorder (AUD) can benefit from alcohol rehab in Rhode Island. This condition involves physical and psychological dependence on alcohol. Rehab programs combine medical and behavioral therapies to help you develop the necessary skills for maintaining a sober lifestyle.

Drug Addiction

During drug rehab in Rhode Island, you’ll participate in a variety of therapeutic interventions designed to help you break free from addiction. Common methods include cognitive behavioral therapy, music and art therapy, 12-step support, and nutrition/exercise.

Mental Health and Substance Abuse

In Rhode Island, dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs provide specialized care for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse conditions. Levels of care include detox, residential drug and alcohol rehab, and outpatient programs. These treatment programs typically include a comprehensive mental health assessment, personalized treatment plan, and evidence-based therapies, like cognitive behavioral therapy. You’ll also attend recovery support groups, receive family counseling, and learn beneficial skills training to help you sustain long-term recovery.

Opioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Level of Care

Outpatient

Clients who are stepping down from inpatient care and those who prefer to remain at home during treatment may choose to enroll in an outpatient rehab. These facilities offer a comprehensive continuum of care designed to evolve with clients’ changing needs. Partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs are designed for clients requiring frequent and high intensity treatment. Clients in outpatient care typically engage in individual, group, and family counseling and recovery-focused life skills training.

Medically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

Intensive Outpatient

Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) support clients’ long-term sobriety and their successful reintegration into the community through high-level services that evolve with clients’ changing needs. The intensity and frequency of treatment decrease as clients stabilize, but most IOP programs involve between nine and 20 hours of treatment weekly. Intensive outpatient rehabs specialize in an array of services, including psychotherapy, medication assisted treatment (MAT), addiction and recovery education, and holistic care, such as massage and biofeedback.

Clinical Services

Group Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.
