Level of Care

Outpatient

Outpatient rehab programs provide flexibility and choice for clients who do not require intensive inpatient treatment. Clients remain in their own homes and may continue to work or attend schools while in active recovery. Outpatient treatment typically includes addiction counseling and continuing recovery education, including courses in self-care and relapse prevention. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is available in many treatment centers for clients in opioid and/or alcohol recovery.

Inpatient

Inpatient rehabilitation is typically recommended for people who have complex medical conditions where they are recovering from a serious injury or a stroke and would benefit from a multidisciplinary approach. Inpatient rehab physical means that the patient sleeps at the hospital or an inpatient rehab facility due to the severity of the injury. During their stay, the patient receives treatment from medical practitioners for several hours a day. It’s ideal for people who have experienced a serious medical event and require inpatient rehab physical therapy before transitioning back to life at home.

Clinical Services

Gait training

Gait training physical therapy (gait rehabilitation) is the act of learning how to walk after sustaining an injury or disability. A physiotherapist will facilitate the process of relearning how to walk through therapeutic exercises such as walking on a treadmill, lifting legs, sitting down, standing up, stepping over objects and completing various muscle strengthening activities. The goals of gait training include increased muscle strength, better coordination, improved voluntary response in lower limb muscle groups. It can also help enhance cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, weight-bearing and balance.

Occupational Therapy (OT) helps people who are experiencing difficulty in day-to-day activities due to injury, illness, or disability. This includes occupational therapy for the elderly. From self-care (getting dressed, eating, moving around the house) and being productive (going to work or school, participating in the community) to leisure activities (physical activities, social activities), an Occupational Therapist helps patients develop, recover, improve, as well as maintain the fine motor and cognitive skills needed for daily living.
