Treatment

Alcoholism

Many people with alcohol use disorder (AUD) can benefit from alcohol rehab in Rhode Island. This condition involves physical and psychological dependence on alcohol. Rehab programs combine medical and behavioral therapies to help you develop the necessary skills for maintaining a sober lifestyle.

Drug Addiction

During drug rehab in Rhode Island, you’ll participate in a variety of therapeutic interventions designed to help you break free from addiction. Common methods include cognitive behavioral therapy, music and art therapy, 12-step support, and nutrition/exercise.

Dual Diagnosis

In Rhode Island, dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs provide specialized care for individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders and mental health conditions. These programs offer medically monitored detox, inpatient, and intensive outpatient. Treatment tends to include individual and group therapy, medication management, psychiatric care, recovery support meetings, and skills groups to simultaneously address both disorders.

Mental Health and Substance Abuse

In Rhode Island, dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs provide specialized care for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse conditions. Levels of care include detox, residential drug and alcohol rehab, and outpatient programs. These treatment programs typically include a comprehensive mental health assessment, personalized treatment plan, and evidence-based therapies, like cognitive behavioral therapy. You’ll also attend recovery support groups, receive family counseling, and learn beneficial skills training to help you sustain long-term recovery.

Level of Care

Outpatient

Clients who are stepping down from inpatient care and those who prefer to remain at home during treatment may choose to enroll in an outpatient rehab. These facilities offer a comprehensive continuum of care designed to evolve with clients’ changing needs. Partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs are designed for clients requiring frequent and high intensity treatment. Clients in outpatient care typically engage in individual, group, and family counseling and recovery-focused life skills training.

Inpatient

Men and women who require immediate stabilization, evaluation and treatment are cared for in one of four treatment units. Treatment is short-term and intensive, with average stay of eight days. Two inpatient units offer acute care and are staffed by clinicians and nurses who are specially trained to care for adults affected by anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), psychosis and other sever psychiatric conditions. Also there is an Inpatient Alcohol and Drug Unit offers specialized care to people who are addicted to drugs and/or alcohol and need detoxification as well as psychiatric intervention.

Medically Assisted Detox

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.

12-Step

12 step programs may be found both in addiction treatment centers and in the community, where meetings are anonymous, free, and open to the public. These programs presume that sustained recovery depends on spiritual, psychological, and emotional growth and healing. Religious affiliation isn’t required, but the 12 step recovery model is based on the belief in a higher power. Peer sponsors support participants as they use the steps to cultivate self-awareness, forgiveness, acceptance, and accountability.

Aftercare Support

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. In an effort to change a very painful state of mind as a result of these challenges, she may be engaging in a variety of behaviors, such as self-injury, binge eating, reckless driving, compulsive cleaning, etc.
