About this Facility

Billing Human Services, located in Norwood, Massachusetts, provides individuals, families, and the community with a continuum of care that incorporates culturally competent behavioral health, substance use recovery, and rehab justice services. Many services can be provided at no cost if finances are an issue.

The addiction services provided at Billings Human Services include intensive outpatient, outpatient, and dual diagnosis treatment.

The Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program at Billings Human Services provides a holistic approach to treating the whole person. This program is for individuals who are not in need of detox or a highly structured environment with 24/7 care. Intensive outpatient programming promotes continued recovery through the exploration of the root cause of addiction and how to create long lasting healthy coping patterns to replace unhealthy patterning. The focus at Billings Human Services is on self awareness, relapse prevention skills, and a variety of coping skills to empower all participants to reach their fullest potential.

One step down from intensive outpatient treatment is standard outpatient care. This involves less time spent at the treatment facility each week. The full range of services provided includes individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, couple’s counseling, Veteran’s services, medication management, recovery coaching, case management, gambling support services, and psychological evaluations. Treatment for dual diagnosis is also provided.

Dual Diagnosis, often referred to as having co-occurring disorders, is when two or more mental health concerns present themselves simultaneously. It is very common for those who struggle with addiction to also have an underlying mental health concern such as anxiety, depression, or a diagnosable psychiatric disorder. Without proper treatment of the mental health issue at hand, getting and staying sober can be difficult. By treating both the substance use disorder and the mental health needs concurrently, a greater chance for long term sobriety is achieved. At Billings Human Services, dual diagnosis can include psychiatric conditions, eating disorders, and other common mental health issues such as anxiety or depression.

Treatment

Alcoholism

A person who has alcohol use disorder (alcoholism) builds up a physical tolerance to alcohol. If they try to stop drinking, they experience withdrawal symptoms. Treatment is available for this condition, through alcohol rehab in Massachusetts. Treatment options include AA, detox, counseling, medication, residential programs, and outpatient treatment. Social and family support systems are crucial during and after treatment of any kind.

Drug Addiction

Addiction is a highly complex problem, and drug rehab in Massachusetts is often necessary to address it. These programs treat physical, mental, and relational issues that are involved. Treatment empowers individuals to manage these issues without the use of drugs.

Mental Health and Substance Abuse

In Massachusetts, dual-diagnosis rehabs are usually the appropriate solution to treat co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders. These facilities typically employ medical and behavioral experts who use a range of interventions, together with the right healing environment, for you to achieve and sustain long-term recovery. Treatment usually includes evidence-based therapies (like cognitive behavioral therapy), recovery support meetings, 12-step facilitation, psychoeducation, skills training, and group therapy.

Opioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Clinical Services

Individual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.
