Clients with disorders like bipolar or depression sometimes turn to substance abuse as means to cope with symptoms, while others may develop these disorders after they’ve begun abusing. When co-occurring disorders, addressing both simultaneously dramatically increases the rate of successful treatment.

Treatment for mental health concerns is integrated into addiction treatment, so clients only participate in one program. Dual diagnosis treatment is an inpatient program.
