Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is a community-based, 12 step-focused addiction recovery program for youth and adults in Dothan, Alabama. They offer no-cost outpatient services, including gender-specific and dedicated programming for LGBTQ+ persons, adolescents, young adults, seniors, and persons with co-occurring disorders.

Clients engage in robust, peer-directed group counseling based on the 12 step-focused, stages-of-change model. Meetings are free, anonymous, open to the public, and accessible 365 days a year, including evening, night, weekend, and holiday sessions. Clients also receive one-on-one peer coaching through a self-selected sponsor.

Clients participate in extensive recovery education to support whole-person recovery, including physical, psychological, emotional, social, and spiritual healing. Recovery-focused life skills training may address topics such as coping, self-care, wellness, and relapse prevention.

All meetings and education programs provided by AA are free. However, referrals for additional medical and mental health services may be offered by peers and sober coaches.
