About this Facility

A Vision for You is a nonprofit substance abuse support group for adults in Phoenix, Arizona, west of Highline Park. They offer a 12-Step group format that follows The Big Book, with peer-led meetings.

As an Alcoholics Anonymous Group, A Vision for You is not a clinical or medical rehabilitation program. Instead, it is a place for those in recovery to find support amongst like-minded peers in a structured environment.

The 12 Steps is a model made famous by Alcoholics Anonymous and used by many addiction recovery support groups around the world. In this model, clients regularly attend meetings to meet with their peers and work on completing the 12 Steps. In meetings, clients share their stories and difficulties with one another and offer advice.

The 12 Steps are a framework designed to help clients recover and improve themselves. Starting with the first step (admitting that they are an alcoholic), clients put their faith in a higher power (which need not be a religious or spiritual entity) and learn to accept responsibility for their past actions. One of the most important steps is making amends with those most hurt by their addiction. Senior members of the group act as sponsors and mentors to newer members.

Insurance isn’t required to participate in A Vision for You. However, clients considering other rehabilitation programs should confirm their coverage before enrolling, as in network and out of network benefits can vary.

Treatment

Alcoholism

Alcohol use disorder (AUD), also referred to as alcoholism and alcohol addiction, is a chronic condition that involves craving alcohol and an inability to control drinking. A person with AUD must drink greater and greater amounts of alcohol to achieve the same effects and experiences withdrawal symptoms if they stop drinking alcohol. Several evidence-based methods are available to treat AUD through alcohol rehab in Arizona. This treatment can occur on an outpatient or inpatient basis.

Drug Addiction

Drug rehab in Arizona is the process of treating individuals who are dependent on a particular addictive drug. Because addiction is complex, this treatment typically includes a variety of interventions that address the many physical and emotional issues involved.

Mental Health and Substance Abuse

Dual-diagnosis rehabs in Arizona typically provide comprehensive treatment for both mental health and substance abuse. These types of specialized facilities address both issues at the same time, through substance abuse evaluations and personalized treatment plans, evidence-based therapies like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), medication management, and skill development. By focusing on both aspects of your mental health and treating your addiction, you’ll gain vital skills to cope with cravings, manage stress, and prevent relapse.

Opioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Clinical Services

Individual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.
